QCH Expands Access to Thrombosis Care with New Clinic & Service

Today QCH introduces a new Thrombosis Rapid Access Clinic (TRAC), within Ambulatory Care. TRAC will provide timely follow-up and specialized care for patients diagnosed with blood clots.

 

In addition to TRAC, we are launching a dedicated thrombosis service to support inpatient care across our hospital. This means our patients will benefit from direct, on-site expertise rather than relying on phone consultations with external specialists. Until now, patients with clots were often referred to The Ottawa Hospital for ongoing care. 

 

Growing Expertise at QCH

We have built our internal capacity with newly recruited Thrombosis-trained physicians, including members of Thrombosis Canada, ensuring high-quality care is available right here in Ottawa’s west end. 

 

Better Care, Closer to Home 

These new services will allow our patients to receive more tailored, timely care without needing to travel. It’s another step forward in improving outcomes and enhancing the patient experience.
