Post Partum Depression

Post partum Depression or baby blues

Post partum Depression, or more commonly known as the “baby blues”, may be something you experience. After giving birth, more than 70% of new mothers may feel a little depressed, cry for no reason, feel anxious, frightened or sad. This may be caused by the changing levels of hormones in your body.

For most women, these feelings go away within two weeks without treatment. If your baby blues seem to be getting worse instead of better, or they last for more than two weeks, this may mean you could be moving into a post partum depression.

Post partum Depression is a clinical problem and by talking to your healthcare provider you can get the help you need.
