The Queensway Carleton Hospital is about to undergo the largest expansion in its history. The project will generate over $225 million in expanded and renovated facilities and new equipment.

The Foundation has been tasked with raising $35 million from the community in support of this expansion. The Foundation is very proud to announce that to date, we have raised over $29 million! Funds generated have already created an impact on healthcare in our community and we have seen a 30% increase in surgical cases from an expansion of Surgery through an early works project, added a Nuclear Gamma Camera, provided for a Breast MRI and celebrated the opening of the Irving Greenberg Family Cancer Centre and accepted their first patients on April 6, 2010.
 
A significant portion of the Phase 3 expansion at QCH will be the investment in the construction and equipping of 10 new state-of-the-art Operating Rooms, a new Cystoscopy Suite, a Post Anesthesia Care Unit and a Family Support program. This new Surgical Centre will be part of the brand new wing being built as part of the overall expansion plan.
 
The overall costs to the Campaign for the Surgical Centre is $5.2 million of our $35 million goal. To date we have received a $2 million gift to support this initiative from a prominent member of the tech community….a $3.2 million opportunity remains. 
 
The Ottawa Tech Community has played an integral role in the development and growth of the Ottawa West community and is known for their unwavering support to philanthropic causes. We propose to the Tech community to rally and support this vital initiative and help us raise the $3.2 million required and to create a unique naming opportunity highlighting this important sector in our community.
