QCH News

If you have had a cold or gastro-intestinal bug within the last 3-4 days, you are asked to stay at home and refrain from visiting patients for their protection.

Please follow the hand hygiene instructions when entering the hospital and a patient room.

Children are the responsibility of the visitor not the Nurses on the unit. Remember, children become bored very quickly. It's much better to have the child send their get well message with the designated visitor.

Floral arrangements or fruit baskets may not be appropriate for certain patients. It is often appropriate to check with the nursing unit first. If you visit when the Physician or other healthcare professionals are with the patient, please excuse yourself.

QCH visiting hours

The staff in the Day Surgery Department, including Patient Admitting, took excellent care of me. Their friendly and kind words were especially appreciated! The nurses in Day Surgery, especially Sharon, Sheila and the OR nurses made my time there very comfortable, and welcoming. They kept me nice and calm before my procedure, as did the nurses who prepared me to go home. From this experience I would highly recommend this hospital. Mary in pre-op reception, Sharon and Sheila from the day surgery unit, Christine who took me to the OR...these ladies are exceptional at taking care of people! Outstanding service, friendly, made me feel comfortable and at ease. A big Thank You to them. I really liked that the Anesthetist, the Resident Doctor and the Doctor came to see me before the surgery. They asked me how I was feeling and if I had any questions. Also I was asked my name so many times!! I liked that, making sure they have the right person!!
